United acquires defender Zayner from Columbus

08/06/2010 - Washington, D.C. (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - D.C. United acquired defender Jed Zayner and a fourth-round pick in the 2011 draft from the Columbus Crew for a second-round pick in the 2012 draft, the Major League Soccer clubs announced on Friday.

"We are pleased to have concluded a trade for Jed," United General Manager Dave Kasper said. "He is a hard working, athletic defender who will provide solid cover for us. We look forward to having him join us in training."

Zayner had made just eight appearances for Columbus this season.
